European Bids For 2018 Football Pick Up The Pace

Tuesday, November 30th, 2010

English football fans hoping for a summer of Football come 2018 may be better off heading to sunny southern-Europe if the latest gaffe from Fifa executives is anything to go by.

It may just be Mortgages in Portugal for the Football hardcore if a note intercepted between the Spanish member Angel Villar Llona and Qatar member Mohamaed Bin Hammam is to be believed. The note, with the words ‘vamos a ganar’ (we are going to win), is being interpreted as proof of the two countries’ collusion over the two World Cup slots in 2018 and 2022: Qatar is said to be helping Spain/Portugal to winning the bid for 2018 in return for a leg up in their 2022 bid. Fifa however has dropped all promise of action over the supposed activity.

England’s bid is now viewed as being a distant outsider, with the Portuguese / Spanish bid and a Russian bid gaining rapid popularity. The English bid has allegedly been damaged by newspaper investigations of the Nigerian and Tahitian members, who were filmed taking bribes in return for votes for a fictionalized American World Cup bid.

Attempting to heal the supposed rift, David Cameron has been lobbying other world leaders at the G20 summit in Seoul. He has subsequently vowed to travel to Zurich to speak with the Fifa leaders ahead of the December 2nd vote that will decide hosting for both the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. Having made significant investment already in facilities for the 2012 Olympics, the World Cup is seen as a particularly appealing prospect for the United Kingdom.

The Portuguese/Spanish bid on the other hand would see a new host-nation (The Spanish hosted in 1982) giving a freshness to their bid. As current kings of Internation Football, the Spanish seem like a doubly likely host for the next World Cup. With the World Cup looking increasingly likely for Southern Europe, it’s no surprise that many English people are sighing and looking into the strange world of Mortgages for property in Portugal.

Is Soccer Coming House

Friday, November 19th, 2010

Check Out:

soccer betting advice

The English football crew have managed to achieve the quarter finals of the Fifa World Cup, will this finally be the yr that soccer comes again home for the primary time since 1966? Regardless of not enjoying their best soccer, England are nonetheless within the tournament and should have an excellent likelihood of lifting the trophy.

Some may say that I am biased as I am from England myself and am an avid England supporter, however I really really feel that 2006 might be the 12 months for our boys on the market in Germany. This will likely in fact be all blown away on Saturday when the team face Portugal and large Phil Scolari. Scolari has been the manager of the final two teams who’ve knocked England out of the final two main tournaments and due to this fact will pose a big risk to my team. He was the manager of the Brazil workforce that beat England in the 2002 World Cup and he was and still is the supervisor of the Portugal crew that beat England within the 2004 European Championship. I hope that it will likely be third time fortunate for the English this year.

To say that England are but to peak is a bit of an understatement as they have in reality been properly beneath par. This might nonetheless be quite a very good factor, what number of instances have Germany scraped by means of to the final phases of the tournament with out thrilling the crowds?

With Wayne Rooney turning into stronger and fitter this must be the perfect opportunity that England has had for fairly some time. There are a lot of leaders and potential captains within the English team. Gamers like John Terry, Frank Lampard, Steven Gerrard would all make worthy captains when David Beckham decides to surrender this role. As well as potential captains, these players are also what I call winners and when push comes to shove hopefully will ship the goods.

Argentina, Brazil and Germany might show to be the most important dangers to England. After a gradual begin Ronaldo seems to have discovered his scoring boots again and the Brazil group has some great gamers all over the park. I’ve to say that I get quite bored of them successful nonetheless, certainly its the flip of England this time around.

Germany have performed some great soccer on their house turf and seem to increase a head of steam. They may show quite troublesome to stop and always seem to do nicely within the World Cup.

Many individuals would argue that Argentina have in all probability played the very best soccer so far and that they are worthy favourites. I must agree with this and simply hope that they have peaked too soon.

It definitely would be an amazing summer in England if our workforce can convey soccer home to where it belongs this year. Good luck England.

Italy’s Soccer Future

Thursday, July 22nd, 2010

Italy’s squad is older than most, and Marcelo Lippi has not been spared criticism for the age of the team.  The Italian team is undoubtedly old, with 30-year old Vincenzo Iaquinta, 31 year-old Andrea Pirlo, 32 year olds Gianluigi Buffon, Gennaro Guttuso, and Antonio Di Natale, 33 year-olds Mauro Camoranesi and Gianluca Zambrotta, and 36-year old Fabio Cannavaro all likely to have to be replaced by Lippi or Azzuri’s next manager by the Brazilian World Cup in 2014.

Lorenzo De Silvestri    Defender     (Fiorentina)    Aged 22
The former Lazio full back cuts an imposing figure for a full back at just over six feet tall.    When he moved to Fiorentina in 2009, De Silvestri came into his own in the form that served him in representing Italy from U16 to U21. With such a solid basis in the skills necessary to become a good fullback, De Silvestri might end up replacing Gianluca Zambrotta for the national team.

Davide Santon        Defender    (Inter)        Aged 19
Santon, who made a striking 28 appearances for Inter this season and five for Azzuri, is a skillful defender with an ability to play either flank successfully. The tireless Santon can run the flanks for the entire ninety minutes and has even been compared to Paolo Maldini by coach Marcelo Lippi. Thanks to his sound technical skills, and omitting the risk of injury, Santon should be joining the next few major finals Italian squads.

Mario Balotelli        (Striker)    (Inter)        Aged 19
Although Mario Balotelli can be quick to anger and temperamental, his skill as an attack and winger has given Italy hope for a strong squad when he starts wearing the Italy soccer jersey.  Batelli’s run-ins with both fans and management only serve to distract from his excellent record: the player scored twenty goals in 59 games and notched 6 and 16 for the U21 Italian set. We can expect to see Batelli at the 2012 Euro qualifiers because Italy is going to need a brand new look strike force.

Federico Macheda    (Striker)    (Man Utd)    Aged 18
Despite Macheda’s failure to make first team at Old Trafford, soccer pundits agree that Man United’s striker could make a name for himself in the 2010-2011 season, and even gain the attention of Azzuri management. Macheda is a strong, intelligent striker, who has an eye for goal. Particularly good with his back to goal, he has already been capped at U21 level for Italy and if he can start to make a bigger impact in the United first team, full honours should soon follow.

Antonio Candreva    (Midfielder)    Udinese    Aged 23
The most daunting challenge that the Italian team faces is finding Pirlo’s replacement, and they may have found their man in Candreva. The Udinese midfielder follows in the footsteps of Pirlo’s creative play, owning any position on the midfield.

Englands Soccer Stars Of The Future

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

The 2010 World Cup Finals may be the last hurrah for several of the current England side.  Players that will be well into their thirties, and likely not playing at the time of the World Cup in 2014 in Brazil include Ashley Cole, John Terry, Rio Ferdinand, Gareth Barry, Steven Gerrard, Frank Lampert.  David Beckham and David James.

Who will Fabio Capello looked to In order to replace his top players? Here’s a look at some of the likely contenders…

Joe Hart    (Manchester City, Goalkeeper) – Hart has enjoyed a superb season on loan at Birmingham and he deservedly forced his way into the squad as third choice keeper for the finals. James gets closer to 40 and Green continues to be unimpressive, and this may mean big things for Hart, who could see a promotion to first goalkeeper, if he makes his way onto Manchester city’s first team or another big Premier League Club team. When he does, it may be some time before England are looking for a new number 1.

Kieran Gibbs    (Arsenal, Defender)
– Injury has stalled Gibbs career at Arsenal, but the young left sided defender will come back stronger than ever.  A talented player who can play anywhere along the left flank, Gibbs will grow in confidence as he gains more experience.  He’ll push Clichy hard for a spot in the Arsenal team next season and should make the step up from England U21’s to the National team at some point in the future.

Jonjo Shelvey    (Liverpool, Midfielder) – Replacing Steven Gerrard for Liverpool and England is going to be a tough task but Shelvey, whom Liverpool recently signed from Charlton, is the man the Reds feel will eventually fulfil that role. At 17, Shelvey could probably use a couple years to rise through the ranks at Anfield, but once he does, he could follow in Gerrard’s footsteps and join the England national team.

Daniel Sturridge (Chelsea, Attacker) – Sturridge has found his progress hampered at Chelsea due to Anelka and Drogba’s partnership but the former Manchester City striker has immense potential.  Sturridge should become a consistent contributor for Chelsea next season and may well push hard to claim Anelka’s spot in Ancelotti’s side. Sturridge’s never-failing ability to make great goals could lead to an impressive role on Chelsea’s and England’s teams.

Connor Wickham (Ipswich Town, Attacker)
– Wickham may be the best thing of which you’ve never heard. At seventeen, Wickham is already showing great promise and has been linked to a Premiership superpower. The attacker has become a big name on the first team at Portman Road, where he began playing shortly after turning sixteen.  Now everyone is just waiting on his move into the Premier League, and waiting to see what his price will be.

So, while this looks like being the final World Cup for many of Capello’s stars, it also heralds the start of an exciting future for many.
